The Mystery Dungeon's History

Here's a little history history lesson on this very website. It's a very strange history indeed, read/listen carefully...

It all began in about 2007. I was about 9 or 10 then. I had recently discovered a bunch of really awesome-looking Pokémon Fansites on the internet (I can't exactly remember how) and I wanted one of my own. So, I started up a website on Freewebs. Back then it was called freewebs.com/joltothunder
Now, I was a complete and utter noob when I was that age. I used one of the Freewebs templates (it was a very old one, it looked like a peice of paper with a picture of a forest on it.) and I set to work on my website. Like i said, I was a noob. So, I did a very retarded and noobish thing. I looked over the other Fansites and saw they had 'Affiliates'. Now, me being an idiotic 9/10 year old, I wanted some Affiliates, SO I found the link images that people use for affiliations, and put them on my own Affiliations page. Yep, that's what I did. I didn't even ask if they wanted to affiliate, I just put their site on mine. So then I got complaints from Umbreon97, her website was one I had *cough* "Affiliated" with. I took down all of the false affiliations and went around asking instead, like a normal person.
A little while later I did another unknown attempt of theivery. I saw that on Umberon97's website she had a "Find Esbreon" page which was one of those games where you search the site for a character. So what could I have possibly done there? Well I stole all of the pictures that she had used as clues. Silly little 9-year-old me. Obviously I got another complaint from Umbreon97 and had to get rid of them and make my own.

Now, a month or two into 2008 (I was 10 then.), I realised that freewebs.com/joltothunder wasn't a very good site name (The site was called The Mystery Dungeon from the very start, that was just the URL name.) so I switched to the-mystery-dungeon.webs.com (this one!). It was then that I started to learn about HTML. I downgraded my account to HTML and then used a template from another website. I also had a little bit more sanity so I didn't steal anything else, and became quite a respectably good webmistress. I also got lots of help from a very good friend of mine, who's name was Beth and she had a website called Bodcat. I also had another friend called Grovyle(and some numbers, I can't remember them) who helped me with CSS. They were both very nice and helpful people. Of corse, I made lots more friends but those two were the most helpful. I miss those guys! D:

It was about late 2009 when I suddenly couldn't keep up the website and it died. Throughout 2010 I tried a couple of times to recover my website but I clearly failed. When it came 2011 something hit me in the head and I remembered this website and all it had been through, and how long it had lasted. I tried logging into the account and saw that it was still here. And so, I reilised how much I missed being a webmistress and I decided to bring it back once and for all. After all, keeping a website that's been up since 2008 will make me look good on a job application! Hehe...

It is going to be difficult due to the lack of many Pokémon Fansites anymore, but I hope to regain TMD back to it's former awesomeness once again. *bows*

*curtains close*
